Babying the Band

My bands been acting up. I know some of it is my own fault. I gave into temptation and had 1/2 to 3/4's cup of lasagna yesterday, left over from Easter. Anywho, after I  had to go to ballet. Big mistake. I was sooooooo sick, like ridiculously sick. Needless to say I spent the last 15 mins of my 1hr 1/2 class throwing up in the bathroom. When I got home I threw up like 3 more times. I had the worst pain where my band was I thought I made it slip again. BIG SCARE.

The first time the band slipped  was because I was having acid issues and reflux, from being too tight/ restricted (not to my knowing) making me involuntarily vomit and projectile vomit. My doctor did an EGD and found that the band had a minor slip. To correct it he removed all my CC's :-/ in February. Almost a week ago I got my first fill in a few months so now I'm at 5.5 cc's in my 14 cc band.

Anywho yesterday made me freak out! I spent all night cursing myself for giving in to temptation. Yes it was good but not so good the second time around if you get my drift. Not fun at all. So I babied my band today. I had a protein shake for breakfast. 34 oz of water, Yes I know I need to work more on my water intake, I had a piece of Tomato pie just the filling not the crusty stuff, and a few nuts. Not much today but I wasn't hungry and wanted to give my band a chance to recover. I'm probably going to try to do liquids the rest of the week. If not liquids at least mushies. Something soft.

I know other lapbanders usually do a week of liquids after a fill, but my surgeon only says one day. I think I'm going to go with what the others said lol. Anywho that's it. I don't have any pain today

I need to work on what JoAnna (65georgi on YT) called mental restriction. I need to not give into temptation :-)

Happy Easter!

As I think of  my true meaning of Easter (not saying that it's the true meaning for everyone, these opinions are my own and I mean no offense), the Resurrection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christo, the Beloved son of God Almighty, I can't help to think of my WLS journey. In essence the opportunity to have this journey is the ability to have new life. To resurrect the me that was dying underneath an unhealthy life style. I thank God in the name of Jesus that I can live one more day as a saved Christian and spread the word of Him on high, in my own way as a testimony to WLS and the treasures of life yet to unfold. So friends have a Blessed day. And although we Christians took over this holiday forget not its Pagan roots and give back to Mother Earth on this festival of nativity and new life as spring unfurls it's lovely flowers and it's earthly creatures come to life. Be Blessed Amigos!

Pizzaaaaaaahhhh

So get this.... MY MOM is eating PIZZA from Milano's best pizza in the world!! I want some.... OMG I want some.... she just wagged a slice at me... No I don't need it.... I DON'T NEED IT... I DON'T WANT IT. It's not worth it. Reminder... PBING is a biznatch.. it hurts like a mother, and it's not worth it. Plus I'm not even hungry. Yea why do I care about the pizza when I'm not hungry? just had to remember that... I am full and satisfied and am not hungry. Nothing else will fit in my pouch so there is no need to indulge. No lo necesito :-)

Remember the Rules

So it's 389 days since I've been banded. I have had some up and downs with this band. Especially the last few months. But ya know, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm creating this blog so that I can keep myself accountable. Whether people read it or not, it's just for me. My online journal.


so here are a few of the rules I still... to this day... have problems with,


rule 1: CHEW CHEW CHEW...

if only I would freaking listen... CHEW CHEW CHEW.... let me save you the trip to the potty to BP... if you chew 30 times each time you put something in your mouth, you will notice when you become full, stopping you from over eating and in turn stopping you from overfilling your poor little pouch, which will then save you a trip to the potty to throw up everything you just ate!

rule 2: DO NOT DRINK WITH MEALS!!

if you thought rule one was hard, this one is harder. It's a nasty ... NASTY...habit to break. The reality is that if you drink with meals it'll cause the food to slide, and some say your pouch to expand... we don't want that...

Oh and if you thought drinking with meals was a hard habit to break.... SODA ADDICTION is an even harder habit to break!.... NO SODA OR JUICE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES... one its really unnecessary calories, and two its bad for you... (keep telling your self that Jacky... it's bad for you. it's bad for you. it's bad for you)

rule 3: STOP WHEN YOU'RE FULL

what a concept right... haha I got the band for portion control. I consider my self a food addict. I love food and over indulge and to this day I even show my love and gratitude by cooking for others.... but my band is a physical reminder that I have a limit! LIMIT... so who cares that my eyes see that I only ate 1/2 a cup of food, 1/2 a cup of food is sustanence and all i need and can tolerate with my band! soo STOP WHEN YOU'RE full.... remember rule one and the potty... yea you don't want to be there again, it's gross and it hurts like a b%tch


rule 4: You won't be able to eat the same foods so don't try!

OK so pizza is out but that doesn't mean you can't have a pizza substitute... think eggface recipes, or bandedwendy's mushroom pizza thingys thats taste sooo good. Just remember, only cause you can't have it the way you used to doesn't mean you can't be creative and think of alternatives to having what you like.... whoa run on sentence to the max lol....
so cheese burgers are your thing? think 4 oz turkey burger no bun fat free or reduced fat cheese hold the mayo...

RULE 5: YOU CAN DO THIS!


I can do this... these are only a few rules but you got this. Remember you've come this far so you know you can do this!!
